Sustainability Action Plan Accelerator
Your shortcut to engaging your team in planning, delivering and documenting sustainability at your early childhood education centre.
Hello, is this you?
Are you looking for an easy and effective way to both deepen sustainability at your centre while also documenting your efforts against the EYLF and the NQS?
Are you committed to embedding sustainability throughout your curriculum, but are struggling to drive engagement and momentum?
Do you want a Sustainability Action Plan for your centre, but are already drowning under admin, documentation and compliance, and want to make this easy and effective?
It’s totally understandable if you and your educators feel a pull towards a clear documented plan but you’re reluctant to take on any more admin and paperwork – we get it.
Without a clear action plan to refer to, it’s easy to get distracted and lose direction, particularly when many people are involved.
A Sustainability Action Plan (SAP) is an essential tool to strengthen team alignment and drive behaviour change at your centre.
We help you bring your team together to create a tailored SAP around a holistic approach to sustainability
A Sustainability Action Plan - done right - is a team alliance on:
What sustainability uniquely looks like at your centre - beyond the usual
How you will weave sustainability through the day-to-day in a way that works for everyone - children, educators, centre leaders, parents and carers, our community and planet.
Who is going to be responsible and accountable for what.
It is also a way to break objectives down to small, achievable steps, tick off and celebrate progress, and tangibly track how the centre is meeting its regulatory requirements.
An effective SAP needs to be co-created with your educators for your unique set of circumstances and around a holistic understanding of sustainability.
Expert guidance and in-built accountability to set you up for success while saving you time and headaches.
Typical mistakes with Sustainability Action Plan - or Reconciliation Action Plans - include copying someone else’s, keeping it too broad or safe, and making it too formal and convoluted to actually be practical, or used at all.
A great SAP is one that everyone at the centre understands and can stand behind!
An effective SAP needs to be co-created with your educators for your unique set of circumstances around a holistic understanding of sustainability. It should be aligned to your philosophy, vision and Quality Improvement Plan as well as the strengths and interests of your educators and your centre’s unique place.
It can be very time-consuming to co-create a clear and actionable SAP your team can stand behind with enthusiasm and excitement.
This Sustainability Action Plan Accelerator helps you shortcut the process using leading methodologies facilitated by Dorothée’s extensive experience.
Dorothée Seeto, our founder and director, taps into 20 years of change management, leadership and service design experience to guide you through a step-by-step process to quickly surface a custom-made approach to sustainability that works for your service. Dorothée has worked with the leadership teams of dozens of companies - including some of Australia’s largest - to drive transformation and innovation projects. Her last role before dedicating herself to early childhood education was Director of Strategic Innovation and Design at technology company Salesforce.
Beyond her professional credentials, Dorothée prides herself on bringing in a good dose of positivity, enthusiasm and belief in other people’s capabilities.
“Working with Dorothee from Endless Play Studio to develop our Sustainable Action Plan has been an inspiring and transformative experience for our team. The training she delivered was not only informative but truly engaging - every staff member walked away with a refreshed perspective on what sustainability means in early childhood education.
Since the training, Gosford Cubbyhouse has been able to proudly develop our SAP and have already started to embed new sustainable practices while rethinking and improving existing ones.
We’re incredibly grateful for Dorothee’s guidance and the long-lasting impact of her work with us at Gosford Cubbyhouse and the wider community. ”
How our SAP Accelerator works to take you from overwhelm to clarity, compliance and a team that works better together.
Working with 3-5 people across your leadership team, Dorothée facilitates the bridging of your centre’s philosophy and vision with the perspectives of educators and cutting-edge research on sustainability in ECE.
Dorothée will immerse herself in your world and lead you through a four-step process:
We start by exploring your centre’s unique vision, strengths and high level goals.
Two weeks later, we follow this with a workshop where Dorothée runs a series of engaging activities to understand and capture what sustainability means at your service, and what objectives and actions should be prioritised to deepen sustainability for the next 12 months
Creation of SAP v1: your team uses the template provided to write version 1 of the Sustainability Action Plan based on everything discussed during the workshop. Working asynchronously in an online document, Dorothée conducts two thorough reviews of your SAP draft, providing extensive feedback and suggestions specific to your unique circumstances.
We finish with a one-hour meeting to finalise your SAP and set your course.
You’ll walk away with version 1 of your centre’s Sustainability Action Plan (SAP), including governance for regular reviews and updates.
